Directly across from the Sheffield Arena is an Inn that offers an outstanding welcome and a few dark secrets. Cloaked in history and drama, passion and tragedy, the Noose & Gibbet may have thrown off the shackles of the past to become the wonderful eatery, drinking establishment and comfortable accommodation it is today.
Ideally located for those visiting the Sheffield Arena for the shows or on business, The Noose & Gibbet Inn just off the M1 offers a genuine, traditional, olde worlde atmosphere that was built into the oak beams back in the 1700’s.
We serve a select range of beers, ales, wines and spirits as well as traditional pub fayre. Accommodation too is available and offers a choice of en-suite, single, double and triple rooms that are warm and welcoming and include a hearty, full English breakfast with cereals, coffee and juice.
Next time you are planning a visit to Sheffield, Sheffield Arena or the surrounding areas, on business or for pleasure, call into The Noose & Gibbet Inn at 97 Broughton Lane, Attercliffe.
In 1732 Spencer Broughton was the last man in England to be hanged and placed in a 'gibbet' for all to see. The Noose and Gibbet Inn is just 60 yards from this place of execution and, revelling in its historical value, has a very 17th century appeal emphasised by the statue of Spencer Broughton which hangs outside.
Broughton Lane, the address of The Noose and Gibbet Inn is named after Spencer Broughton.
